Independent software studio

Practical software built from
real operations experience.

JY Foundry is the professional portfolio of Jon Young, an operations leader who builds tools for forecasting, labor planning, weekly goals, hiring preparation, customer service, analytics, and business productivity.

Why JY Foundry

I created JY Foundry to show how I approach operational challenges.

For nearly three decades, I have worked in operations across restaurants, retail, warehouse, logistics, and service businesses. That experience taught me how small problems in staffing, planning, communication, and workflow can create larger problems throughout an operation.

The applications in this portfolio began with problems I encountered while managing real operations. Some help managers forecast demand and plan labor. Others are designed to organize weekly priorities, prepare for hiring conversations, guide customer service decisions, and make routine work faster and easier.

I am not building technology for its own sake. I build practical tools that fit the way people actually work.

What I build

Technology in service of better operations.

The work starts with the decision, not the feature list. Each system is designed to reduce ambiguity, remove friction, and help people act with confidence.

01

Operational systems

Tools designed around how work actually moves, from intake and prioritization to execution and review.

02

Forecasting & planning

Models that turn uncertainty into practical scenarios, guardrails, and more confident decisions.

03

Analytics & reporting

Clear, focused views that explain what changed, why it matters, and where attention belongs.

04

Automation

Thoughtful automation that removes repetitive work without creating a black box around the process.

I combine frontline management knowledge with software development, analytics, and process improvement.

Success is clearer work, stronger decisions, and time returned to the team.

How I Contribute

Combining operations leadership with practical technology.

JY Foundry extends the work I already do as an operations leader by giving me another way to improve performance, organize information, streamline workflows, and support better decisions.

I enjoy understanding how organizations work, identifying opportunities for improvement, and building solutions that make work more efficient, more consistent, and easier for the people doing it.
